Tara + Colby

Our first wedding of the year featured Tara and Colby. Tara is Kim’s sister, a previous bride whom you’ll see featured in this post here. What was nice for us was having a wedding so quickly after getting back from Australia. It allowed us to at least start putting some new photographic skills into practice, and we think it shows in some of the images we’ve selected below.

Tara and Colby opted for a small ceremony at the always beautiful Dr. Sun Yat Sen chinese garden. It was a little touch-and-go, but the rain held off for the afternoon, allowing them to have her ceremony outside and giving us an opportunity to use some of the outside areas for portraits of the two of them. Even had it rained, the gardens offered plenty of covered areas to grab portrait images of the two of them, so we weren’t worried - but without the rain it does give us more flexibility.

No rain, but it was a little cold. Tara was a real sport, pulling on and off a borrowed coat from her Dad between shots but spending a number of minutes at a time in 5 degree weather. Her goosebumps were hidden behind her lovely smile!!

And in an unusual, but neat departure from normal weddings, Tara and Colby managed to extend the wedding a week by having the big reception/party the following Saturday. So they celebrated twice!!!
