Hello all,
We just received some great, but sad, news. Our wonderful and beautiful production assistant Lila is leaving us to follow her heart and passion for a last minute, but too good to pass up, opportunity in a far-off exotic land.
So we need to fill her position as soon as we can - which is going to be tough as they are a diverse pair of shoes she wears.
The ideal candidate is:
1) Incredibly well organized and self-managed
2) Very personable and friendly with a flair for sales
3) An artist at heart willing to duke it out in Photoshop to help produce beautiful works of art
The person we are looking for will be involved heavily with our Kids of Vancouver 2010 book project.
We know it can be hard to find a sales consultant and production assistant/artist rolled into one person. So if you know someone who happens to be great at sales OR someone who loves photoshop and coordinating our office then please forward them to us.
Aside from a strong outgoing personality, the greatest asset they can possess is the ability to learn and absorb all we have to teach.

Baby Ryan Jackson!
Ryan was warmly received into the world by his loving parents Camille and Stewart and siblings Adrianna and Aidan on January 7 2010. Congratulations Camille and Stewart on the birth of your wonderful new addition, and kudos for finding the time during those first hectic weeks to bring Jackson into the studio (not once, but twice!) to let us capture all that beautiful newborn glow!
We look forward to photographing Ryan during all the milestones that his first year brings!

We’ve created a special Veridamo Photography fan page on Facebook, which you can find at:

We will be using this page to post images from all our sessions and we’ll probably include images that don’t normally make it onto our blog.
As well we’re figuring out ways to make the site more engaging than this blog. We’re thinking we might do some random draws if you are fans.
For example, how would you like the opportunity to spend the evening with a vibrant, happy, and very outgoing 18 month old girl while Mommy and Daddy have a date night. Yes, I know, hard to believe right. But yes this opportunity could be yours, but you’ll have to sign up as a fan of the page first.
Just click on the “Become a Fan” button at the top of the page and you will be notified when we post new images or do random babysitting draws (just kidding…..hmmmm..well)

Hey all,
We’ve joined the Twitter bandwagon and if you’ve already been a twittererer then you can follow us at @VeridamoPhoto.
We’re not sure how we’ll use it yet, but we plan to make every tweet count - we’re not really into the mindless “Hey, I really enjoyed the burger I just ate” kind of posts. Mmmmm, burger. I love White Spot burgers. And the fries are great too.
See what can happen if you just type what comes into your brain?
Maybe we’ll do Tweet Specials and offer discounts on products to our fellows twits/tweeters/whatever we’ll called.
…Meanwhile back at the ranch, lots of action with our Kids of Vancouver project. It’s mostly been setting up consultations and meeting with everyone but now we begin to photograph, and photograph, and photograph. We’ll post a cross-section of our sessions to the blog as they happen….

A huge influx of babies haved arrived this year - another addition to our Veridamo family is baby Grace (aka Gracie). Her lucky parents are wedding clients of ours, Stefanie and Nick. Gracie arrived on March 4th 2009 weighing 6 lbs 10oz. and 19.5 inches long. When we photographed her she was just 11 days old. Congratulations Stef and Nick! Welcome to the “Club”!

Whew!!!! (insert picture of me wiping my brow, which is ironic if you stop to think about it because we do have the ability to take an actual picture of me wiping my brow, but it’s late, I haven’t shaved, and my desk is a mess)
We are very excited to announce the launch of the Portrait section of our website. Up to know we’ve just relied on word of mouth for all our Family and Baby portrait work, but it seemed time to actually publish a site dedicated to this area of our photography.

We’d love to hear from our existing clients and any clients on what you think. Do you have any favourite images?
And for those eagle eyed friends, family, and clients you may notice that our daughter Alexia makes a special guest appearance in a couple of places. We couldn’t resist!
Now that this project is out of the way, we are moving on to an even bigger project. We hope to have another announcement in the next couple of weeks so keep your ears and eyes open.
… and no, we aren’t expecting a second child.

Focused Elegance Photography has morphed into Veridamo Photography.
It took many many many months, but we’ve finally made the change (errr, almost). We have a new name, new logo, new image, new brand, new website, same people and same attitude. And boy are we excited. And tired. But I think that’s cause of the baby.
The FocusedElegance website is still up and running to help out with previous clients and links and google searches etc. But we’ve now got http://www.veridamo.com up and running as our main site. You’ll also notice that the look and feel of this Blog has changed (for you sharp eyed readers it’s actually said Veridamo in the window title for a couple of months now).
There are still a couple of things to sort out. For example this blog is still www.focusedelegance.com/blog. I have to switch it over to the new domain but that’s going to take a bit of work. The second thing is that at the late stages I’ve run into an issue with the new Veridamo website and Mac computers. There’s an issue with this site running in Safari browsers. On some Mac computers the galleries appear to be random and in some machines you can’t even see the galleries. Arrrghhhhh. Hopefully I get this resolved before the wedding season is over 
So for you Mac exclusive users, you’ll have to borrow a PC for a few minutes. So sorry! Trust me, it’s more frustrating for me at the moment….
There’s more to say here, but it’s late and I’ve got a baby in one arm and it takes like forever to type one handed-ish.

Happy New Year everyone!!
2008 is going to be a very significant year in our lives, with two very big changes.
The first change will be a new baby that we are expecting within the next week or so. This is our first child so we are expecting a slight change to our lifestyle. Based on feedback from everyone, we aren’t expecting much of a transition really. Just cutting out the odd movie here and there. And maybe some sleep. Well, and personal reading time. And any personal time together. I guess on top of those inconveniences will be the infrequent feedings and diaper changes. What - a couple of diaper chanegs a day maybe? It’s going to be a piece of cake. Really.
The other change is more directly impacting our business and has been an in-progress activity throughout 2007.
Yes, pretty soon we will have a new name, a new look, a new brand, and a new website. But it will still be our friendly smiling faces behind those cameras (one definitely prettier than the other).
The transition will occur very very soon. The launch is imminent - as soon as I’m done making the necessary website changes we’ll be live. No sleep for me.

Congratulations on the arrival of your little boy! Maddox Elijah entered the world on February 20th 2007 weighing 7lbs 12 oz. Maddox is the best little baby and the most content! Erin, don’t tell too many new Moms that Maddox lets you sleep through the night! You look fabulous Erin and you have adjusted to motherhood very well.
Erin and Brian are wedding clients from 2006. They were married on Jeff’s birthday which is easy to remember! You can see images from their wedding and engagement which are posted in the engagement and wedding sections of the Blog.

Trish and Phillip - congratulations on the arrival of Naomi Ruth Yik-Sze Coldrey Lo (try saying that one 5 times), aka “The Sprout”. We thank you for forwarding photo’s of the newest member of your family! Naomi arrived on Sunday April 29th weighing 6lbs 7oz and 19 inches long. Mom and Dad are apparently getting used to the lack of sleep. In their own words they thought the lack of sleep was just a legend! Welcome back to reality!
