Halloween Spooktacular

Thank you to everyone who participated in our First Annual Halloween Spooktacular.  We collected several hundred dollars in cash donations and tonnes of food for the Share Food Bank. Some of the most popular characters of choice were: Hannah Montanas, Witches, Super Heros, Pumpkins, Indianna Jones, Pirates and lots and lots of Fairies!

Below is a handful of little people that came to Trick or Treat.  Unfortunately we aren’t able to post everyone’s photos - I’d be here all night!  But we thank you all for coming out to support the Share Food Bank.  We hope you will join us again next year and bring some of your friends too!  Cheers, Tanya

Fun in the Sun

One of our long time clients, the Raines Family came in to celebrate Sienna’s first birthday so we took the kids to the beach.  Thank goodness Mom brought extra clothes for them to wear.  A session with us sometimes entitles the kids to get dirty or wet - even though they wouldn’t otherwise get the opportunity!

Clarke

A handsome little character visited the studio recently - of course accompanied by his loving parents Kristen and Christopher - former wedding clients of ours.  Funny how that happens - the natural progression of love, marriage, baby carriage.. How many times did you hear that old Rhyme on the playground when you were a kid??? “So and So” and “So and So” Sittin’ in a tree K.I.S.S.I.N.G first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage.

Engagement: Alisa & John

It isn’t too uncommon these days for an engagement shoot to actually be a family session as the couple getting married already have one or more kids. This is the case with Alisa and John who have been together for approximately, oh, forever, but recently became inspired to get officially hitched after they partipated in Cara and Brock’s wedding last year. (Normally we would link to the blog entry where we posted Cara and Brock’s images, except we never made one. What??? How could that be? Did we have a baby that sucks all our spare time? Well, at least they made it as a featured wedding in our main website.)

So back to Alisa and John…. Back in June we took a trip out to White Rock beach to photograph them with their two boys (Carson and Brendan) and here’s a sample of what we managed to get….

Wedding: Sandra & Rohan

Our lovely couple with the movie star looks got themselves hitched a few weeks back and we’ve got tons of great images to prove it.

The service was held at the Holy Rosary Cathedral downtown Vancouver.

The formals and wedding party shots were all in Yaletown, with Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill serving as a fantastic backgrop for some cool shots.

And finally the reception was held at the Four Seasons Hotel. Wow!! What an interior. We look forward to shooting there again. Hint hint to future brides :-)

Carmen & Ingo

Recently I photographed clients Carmen and Ingo with their two small children at Jericho Beach in Kitsilano.  The first time we worked with them was to photograph their daughter Charlotte.  This second occasion was to celebrate a more recent addition to the family - their son Ryan.  For all those parents out there that know - what you do for one child, you must do for the other!  This family  was so much fun to photograph - they are very expressive and the children’s love of the beach made the session a breeze (quite literally). :)Charlotte is one of the most excitable children I have worked with  - she laughs very easily.  Ryan is quiet and philosophical - if that is possible at a young age.  The images below are some of my favorites from the session.

FIFI 2008

Last week we took part in the 5th Annual FIFI Event: Friends Inviting Females Invitational.  We are proud to say that we have been supporters and sponsors of this event since its inception 5 years ago.

The Event has given back over $160,000 in the past four years.  The money raised has been able to help through research, purchase of much needed medical equipment as well as gentle care with room and board when needed.  To everyone involved with FIFI  - you have given hope through your generosity and kindness to hundreds of patients and their caregivers in ways you’ll never know.

Congratulations to all of the volunteers, sponsors, golfers and guests for another successful year!

Amelia

One of the greatest parts of our profession is that many of our clients become our friends.  Recently Anik and her daughter Amelia visited and we went to Rocky Point Park so the kids could ride on the swings and play.  Alexia didn’t play much - she slept in her stroller.  However, Amelia had a splash of a good time in some standing water.  The water park was alive with squealing children running a muck when all of a sudden the water came on.  Below are several fun images of Amelia

Steve Darling is back in TVWeek

You may remember that we photographed Steve and Jen’s wedding back in July 2006.

Almost exactly two years later we again had the privilege of photographing the two of them, but this time with the new addition to the family, their daughter Hayley.

Tanya took some great photographs of their fantastic baby room (Is Tanya jealous of that room? umm, yeah slightly) and both of us did a follow-up shoot over at Rocky Point Park to get some more natural outdoors shots. So of course it was hot and sunny all that week, except the Thursday morning we arranged to do the session. It sprinkled and rained. Sigh - but we adapted. There`s a few places to seek shelter there.

This week’s edition of TV Week is running an 8-page spread of images and a nice story telling of their early adventures in parenting - but you’ll just have to buy the magazine to find out and to see the images.

Here`s the cover so you know which issue to buy :-)

Engagement: Jessica & Geoffrey

A recent engagement session we did up at Burnaby Mountain Park (where Horizon’s restaurant is located, up on Burnaby Mountain next to SFU).Jessica really wanted to take advantage of the cherry blossoms that bloomed really well this year, and of course we knew of just the spot (ok, it’s one of dozens, but the park has some really nice majestic views.)
